Finally Lita takes to the stage with her famous Stoli Vodka guitar, looking amazing aged 58 in a skin tight red leather cat-suit. The set tonight is a mixed bag of old material and some newer cuts from her latest album, including the title track named after her memoir, Relentless, and although perhaps fun, a not really needed cover of Elton John’s The Bitch Is Back. The main crowd pleasers come in the form of the older hits, such as the catchy Playing With Fire, Falling In and Out of Love
and Back to the Cave. The show wouldn’t be complete without at least one Runaways song, which of course comes in the form of the teenage brat classic Cherry Bomb.
Lita’s guitar playing does not falter, and she plays perfectly off other guitarist Patrick Kennison all set, with Patrick taking over the Ozzy Osbourne part of Close My Eyes Forever
during the encore. The set is upbeat for the majority, with Lita and her band giving us a slice of Hollywood showmanship. Yes, the lighting for most of the show was kind of dim, and given the approaching curfew it felt time could have been used more wisely – why have a drum solo when Shot of Poison
was left out?
